Background

In a world saturated by smart phones, twisted leaders, and fake reality tv, Mitchell Berry is a 21st century artist simply doing whatever it takes to survive. With the willpower of an orangutan and the nonchalant attitude of a twelve year old sloth the challenges he faces are perilous.

Knowledge is power, thus realizing the importance of giving unencumbered access of information to others takes precedent over all issues. As an instructor, providing on the spot answers to best of his ability, Mitch offers an atmosphere that welcomes new possibilities and debate. With a little patience and a gentle push anyone can learn how to perform a given task, yet if a student simply knows an answer without understanding why, then the instructor has failed.

Within the realm of fine art, turning his back upon the notion of the spectacle and the fragility of the artworks themselves, he encourages his audience to interact and manipulate the works by providing a welcoming and playful features to them.  The end goal is to drift away from the cold isolated nature of traditional museums and galleries into a warmer environment of social interaction within those spaces reserved for the spectacle and the fragile.

Knowledge and comfort are the greatest gifts one can bestow upon another. Despite giving so much, everyone can walk away without distracting the mind from what was just received.
